Dr. Biran is a researcher in Volcani Institute. His research is focused on neuroendocrine regulation of metabolism and stress in fish, and its applied aspects to aquaculture. The Biran lab has generated the first genome-edited (GE) food fish in Israel and has established additional GE lines for increased appetite and muscle development of Nile tilapia.
